These are two short extracts from material woman. The video was edited in 2005 by myself and Anna Grimshaw from the filming Anna had done during material woman's inhabiting of the Taxi (see curtains). The film is prefaced by these words on the screen:

scrabbling and scuffling
going round in circles
crossing the
threshold
a hundred times,
cobbling out of strips and scraps
curtains
that make a place
habitable

The poster is for a showing of the video in New York, one of many which have taken place in different settings in Europe and U.S.
